One key musical concept is contrast. There are many different ways to add contrast to songs from a frequency standpoint, meaning playing parts in different pitch ranges or simply the number of instruments playing at once.
In this video I break apart a musical example of this concept. I explain each individual part and their function in the song in hopes that you can apply these concepts to your music.
