One of the challenging things on guitar can be switching between chord shapes. Luckily, there are some chord shapes that are almost identical that are great starting points to get this technique down.
I believe the easiest chords to start switching with are the E minor and A minor chords. I call them Shape Shifters because the second and third finger shape are identical to both chords so all you need to do is shift those fingers down one set of strings and place your first finger down to pick up the note needed to complete the A minor chord in the shift from the E minor chord.
In this video I introduce you to the chord shapes (if you don’t know them already) and then give you a practice track to use to practice your shape shifting chord switching.
As always, I welcome your feedback and any questions you may have. Thank you, Joe
